Thelma Bob Discoveries Crew at Cobourg Waterfront Festival
In July, we participated in one of the larger craft venues
held at the waterfront in Cobourg Ontario.
This was our first big show; Thelma Bob Discoveries is
making its presence in Northumberland County. The festival is held every year
around the July 1 holiday which allows hobbyist to show their wares for 3-4
days. There are 4-5 tents that hold 200+ hobbyist/foodies/artists. At the same time
there more Canada Day events happening all throughout the harbor front such as
midway, parachute jumpers, music band shell and a small market place. At this
festival there is always something for everyone. It is a great time for
families to come together and spend time having fun.
Before we participated in the festival we were visitors. Our
family came down to this event yearly for the last 5 years. Melissa and I would
come down with the family and spend the day looking at the goodies everyone had
to offer. We always enjoyed the sights and sounds of Cobourg during the Canada
Day Holiday. There is a great sense of pride for Canada in Cobourg and the
other towns in the area.
This year the weather was fantastic, not very hot and no
rain in sight. We were located in the largest tent of show. I must say it can
get hot inside the tents lucky we had a fan to help circulate the air. The show
went on without a hitch but we were slightly disappointed, we were not as
successful as we hoped. We brained stormed and we believe we need to define
areas of product and saturate with that product. We had a 10x10 booth, great
space, but need to display merchandise in an appealing way for the client to
visualize for his/her space. With this plan, we know Thelma Bob Discoveries
will be more interesting and hopefully more successful.
Now we have a plan of action for our next show and YES THERE
WILL BE MORE SHOWS…MANY MORE…STAY TUNED IN! COMING TO A CITY NEAR YOU!
