Cherry Blossoms of High Park

CHERRY BLOSSOMS OF HIGH PARK

Spring is finally here in Toronto. One of the main indicators of the season is the cherry blossoms blooming in High Park. High Park is located in the west end of the city. As one enters the park, one sees the floods of people coming to admire the bursts of blooming trees. The pathways are lined with these and other blossoming trees. I could not get over the beauty of these trees against the bright blue sky. Many Torontonians take this pilgrimage to Mother Nature’s spring wake-up call. Visitors young and old travel along the pathways gazing upwards towards a sky filled with tiny pink and white flowers. It is almost like they are shouting out, "spring is here!" You can drown in the view and caught up in this urban oxymoron- a world of natural beauty in amongst the concrete jungle. But that's what it does. It allows city dwellers to take a moment in their busy lives and enjoy what beautiful wonders nature has to offer. This is definitely a must see. But don't take too long- these fragile blooming trinkets won’t last long.
