Who is Thelma Bob?

Introduction:
Welcome to Thelma Bob Discoveries blog. In our blog we will introduce you to our discoveries. Our passion is travelling Ontario finding interesting places and people. We are in search of vintage, sometimes retro, unique furniture pieces. We refurbish these pieces and showcase them on our blog. We will include what we discovered while working on the piece together. We also want to share our life experiences be it scenic, structural, cultural or culinary. Just to enjoy and embrace one’s passion. We hope you will join us as we discover what life has to offer in our province of Ontario.
Who is Thelma Bob?
Thelma Bob Discoveries is Michelle Richardson brain child. It is her other persona allowing her creativity to flow freely. For over twenty years, Michelle Richardson has worked in retail management specializing home décor. She has worked with notable organizations like Brendan’s on Bloor, Au Lit, Feather Factory and Manderley Manor. Fresh from college with a diploma as an Interior Decorator, Michelle knew her passion was textiles and retro furniture.
Even at a young age Michelle knew that she was born with the decorating bug. As a girl, she was forever changing and re-arranging the bedroom that she shared with her sister, Melissa, sometimes to her sister’s chagrin! But an artistic leaning was in the family and Michelle’s mother, who once studied to be a fashion designer, encouraged Michelle to follow her passion.
Michelle is an artist and an animal lover (she has 3 cats). Michelle spends her free time with family and friends. Michelle also enjoys a good bottle of wine with a great black and white movie. She is an avid tracker of trends in fashion and home furnishing. Michelle is the main contributor to the blog.
Michelle is not alone in this venture. Her sister Melissa Richardson, and her friends Laura MacInnis and Wai Ling Chan are here to join her. Melissa Richardson is a Registered Early Childhood Educator with twenty-eight years of experience. As mentioned above their mother’s artistic influences encouraged Melissa to follow her passions. In her younger years, she studied music at the Royal Conservatory of Music and graduated with honors. Melissa’s creative energy didn’t stop there; she has become an avid photographer. You will get familiar with her photos in the blog entries.
Melissa is an animal lover and naturalists. Melissa spends her free time writing poetry, enjoying the outdoors and hunting for unique finds. Melissa is a major contributor to the blog.
Laura MacInnis is a great friend to Michelle and Melissa. They have known each other well over fifteen years. Laura is a wife and mother of two children. She has life experience; married for eighteen years to a man who works as a commercial and residential contractor. She is a fabulous baker and enjoys trying new and adventurous things. She has a creative eye for detail and loves refinishing/refurbishing old furniture to create a new life with unique one of kind pieces of art.
Laura is also an animal lover (seems like a perquisite to being a member of Thelma Bob). She enjoys her free time with her family and friends. Laura loves shopping with the girls and nice dinners out.
Wai Ling Chan is really like a sister to Michelle and Melissa. They have known each other for thirty years. She enjoys going out with the girls gallivanting across Ontario finding unique furniture pieces, meeting interesting people and making their own fun and memories.
